3.11 pray for Japan

Three years ago from today, Japan got a huge earthquake.
三年前の今日、日本は大きな地震に見舞われました。

I still remember that day clearly.
Three years ago, I graduated from my high school and decided to study one more year to go to a university which I really wanted to go. On March 11th, I hanged out with my best friend, and I had a good time with her. After that, I went to cram school to study. Then. I saw a long line at Hiroshima station. Since Hiroshima is far away from Tohoku area, we did not feel shakes at all. I was surprised at the long line but did not notice such thing happened in Japan.
After studying at the cram school, I knew about the earthquake.
私は今でもあの日のことを鮮明に覚えています。
3年前、私は高校を卒業し、浪人を決めて予備校に通い始めていました。3月１１日は、高校からの親友と出かけ楽しい時間をすごしていました。その後、私は予備校に勉強するために行ったのですが、その際、広島駅にながーい行列を見ました。私の住む広島は地震の起こった東北地方からは離れているので、全く揺れを感じなかったのですが、まさかあのような大きな地震が日本国内で起こっていたとは想像もしていませんでした。
私が知ったのは、勉強を終えて家に帰ってからでした。

I got some e-mails from my friends in other countries at that time.
Still now, I have been asked from my friends from other countries whether I got some damages from the earthquake or the nuclear power plant.
その当時、他国に住む友人たちから安否を訪ねるメールをもらいました。
現在でも、この大学に来てから日本の状況は現在どうなのか、地震や原発からの何かダメージを受けたのかと聞かれます。

Obviously, Japan is reconstructing. However, it takes log period, and we need long term supports.
First of all, Japan must abolish the nuclear power plants. There are some benefits from this power plants, but it was proved that it cannot be safe perfectly. We must learn from this accident and must not repeat it.
確実に日本は復興の道を歩んでいます。しかし、これには長い時間がかかり、長期のサポートが必要不可欠です。
何より、日本は原発を撤廃しなければなりません。原発がもたらす大きな利益があるのは現実ですが、完璧に安全なものではないということが証明されたのです。私たちはこの事故から学び、そして繰り返してはなりません。

I am praying for the victims of the earthquake, and at the same time, I hope Japan will have a right decision for the future.
災害で犠牲となった全ての方へ祈りを捧げるとともに、日本が将来に繋がる正しい選択をすることを心から願います。
