Fashion Event by Equestrian Team

Hi! Today, Equestrian Team had a Fashion Event at school! We invited some fashion experts from several boutique, and introduced fashion to students.
今日は、馬術部でファッションイベントの日でした。ファッションのエキスパートにブティックから来てもらい、学生たちにファッションを紹介しました。

There were some models(students), and they showed how to dress in different occasions, such as for work, after work, casual...
数人の学生がモデルをして、TPO。(Time-時 / Place-場所 / Occasion-場合)に合わせた服装を紹介しました。例えば仕事に行くとき、仕事の後のお出かけ、カジュアルなスタイル等。。

Many students came to see the fashion event!! It succeeded!! :D
たくさんの学生が来てくれ、とても良い時間になりました!! 成功に終わって本当に良かったです!!

The Last day of March

Hello. Today is the last day of March! Japan is already in April now. In Japan, the fiscal year starts from April. So, school or job will start in this month.
こんばんは。今日は３月最後の日です。日本では既に４月ですね。アメリカでは年度初めは9月なのですが、日本では、４月なので学校や仕事はどこも今月からでバタバタし始めるのではないでしょうか。

I cannot believe that I am junior!! I feel the day I entered Hiroshima Jogakuin University was just a few days ago. After entering the university, I have met my best friends in GSE major. And also I could have so many friends from other university in Japan and from other countries.
In addition, I could visit several countries, and now, I am in the USA.
もう３年生だなんて正直信じられません。広島女学院大学に入学したのがついこないだのことのように感じます。大学に入学後、GSEメジャーで将来もずっと付き合っていきたいと思える友人に出会うことができ、また国内の他大学、世界にもたくさん友だちを作ることができました。
さらに、いくつかの国にも行くチャンスをいただき、今はこうしてアメリカにいます。

This study abroad will finish in May. I counted the days until I finish this semester, then I noticed that I will conclude the life in this college in just 5 weeks!! I was surprised and I thought it is quicker than the last semester.
この留学生活も５月で終わりです。日にちを数えてみると、あと５週間でこちらでのすべての授業、試験が終わることに気がつき、びっくりしています。なぜだか分かりませんが、この学期は前学期よりもとても短く感じています。

In March, I could write more blogs than the other months. I will try to write more in April and May!! :)
３月は今までの月よりも多くブログを更新することができました。残りの１ヶ月半、更に更新できたらいいなと思っています!! :)

Cherry Blossom Festival

Hi! Today, there was a cherry blossom festival at the Wesleyan College. It started before 5:00pm and lasted until 8:30pm. I was invited by the Japanese class students to join the festival, I cooked some Japanese dishes and joined the picnic!!
こんばんは。今日は、学内で桜祭りがありました。学内とはいっても地域の方たちがたくさん集まる地域のお祭りです。夕方５時前から始まり、８時半頃までありました。私は、日本語クラスの学生さんから一緒にお花見をしようと誘われていたので、日本食を作って持っていきました。

I made Chirashi-zushi(a kind of sushi) and Kara-age(Japanese style fried chicken).
ちらし寿司と唐揚げを作って持っていきました。

I was so happy they liked the dishes!! :D

みんな美味しいと言って食べてくれたのでとても嬉しかったです!!

It was like a party!! XD

   

Probably, the party lasted until the end of the festival, but I needed to leave to take care of horses. At the end of the festival, there were fireworks。So we covered their ears to protect them from the big noise.
きっとお花見はお祭りが終わるまで続いたのでしょうが、私は馬のお世話をするために途中で抜けなければなりませんでした。お祭りの最後に花火があるのですが、馬の耳に耳栓をして大きな音から馬たちを守るためです。

Ross Dress For Less

Hi! I went to shopping with my friend today.
My aim was not shopping, but I found a pretty cardigan, so I bought it :)
今日は友だちと買い物に行ってきました。
出かけた目的は買い物のためではなかったのですが、可愛いカーディガンに出会ったのでゲットしました :)

In America, there are shops which sell clothes cheaper than the original prices. There are famous brand clothes too!! We do not have that kind of shops in Japan, so I love it so much!!
This cardigan was cheaper than half price of the original price!! Isn't it great?? I do think that we should definitely have this kind of shops in Japan too!! :D
アメリカには普通の値段よりも安い値段で服や靴などを売っているお店がいくつかあります。アウトレットではないんですが、いわゆるオフプライスショップというお店です。有名ブランドも普通に安くなっているのでとってもお得です! 日本にはこの手のお店は存在しないので、こういうお店での買い物は最高です!!
このカーディガンも半額以下でした。日本もこういうお店があればいいのにとすごく思います!!

By the way, cherry blossom trees are full bloomed now!! It is so beautiful! :D 

Bad thing for many people is there are much pollen. I talked with my friend today, and she told me that she has a headache because of the pollen.

Today, it is rainy, so I just took some pictures in rainy. But I am invited for a cherry blossom party tomorrow, so I am excited about it and hopefully it will be a good weather tomorrow!!

ところで、アメリカの桜も満開です!! とても綺麗なのですが、花粉がすごく飛んでいるようです。今日友だちと話をしていて、彼女は花粉で頭痛がすると言っていました。私は幸運なことに花粉症ではないので、普通にしていると分からないのですが、今日買い物から帰ってきたら机がなんだか誇りっぽくなっていたのでティッシュで拭いてみると真っ黄色!! きっとあれは花粉なんでしょう!!!!

今日は生憎の雨模様なので雨の中写真を数枚撮っただけなのですが、明日は日本語クラスのみんなとお花見なので天気が良いことを願います!!

Piano Concert

This evening, I went to a piano concert!! My friends played the piano, so I went to see them and enjoyed music.

今日の夕方、音楽メジャーの学生たちのピアノコンサートに行ってきました。私の友だちも演奏したので彼女たちを見に行き、音楽を楽しんできました。

They did really good job, and I loved the concert so much!! All the audiences went up to the stage to listen to music and see the performers closer than usual.
みんなとても素晴らしい演奏でした!! 今回のコンサートでは、お客さんはみんなステージ上にあがり、いつもよりも近い距離でピアノ演奏を聞きました。

Writing Class

Hello!

As I said before, I am taking Writing class now. In this whole semester, I need to write 6 papers. Every time, we read a article for the paper and write some response for it. 

こんにちは。

以前紹介したように、私はライティングのクラスを履修しています。このクラスでは、セメスター中に合計６枚のレポートを書きます。毎回文章を読み、それに対する分析や意見を書きます。

Yesterday, I got a result of the 3rd paper. It was about feminism from movies of Disney princess point of view. Then, I got 98 points!! I'm so happy about it :D

昨日、提出していた３枚目のレポートがかえってきました。ディズニー映画のプリンセスたちから見るフェミニズム（男女平等論）がお題でした。初めて98点という高得点をもらい先生からも褒められ、とても嬉しい一日になりました。

There are some rules to write academic papers. For example, "I" and "you" cannot be used,  using transition wards, and plagiarism. This class is really good for me to practice to write a paper in English.

学術的文章を書く上でのルールがたくさんあります。例えば、第一人称と第二人称は使ってはいけない、文章の変わり目での言葉の使用法、とても厳しい剽窃など。。このクラスではこういった決まりから文法的なことまで英語で文章を書く良い練習ができるのでとても為になっています。

I love Skype!

Hi! In the life at the other country, Skype is really convenient and useful!
I use it to talk with my family since I came here. Since there are only 3 Japanese students now, talking with my family is only the time when I talk in Japanese.
こんにちは。他の国で暮らしていると、スカイプというのは何て便利で役立つものだろうと感じます。私はこちらに来てから家族を話をするときはスカイプを使っています。現在、この大学には日本人が3人しかいないので、親と話すとき＝唯一日本語を話すときです。

When I decided to stay here for one more semester, I used it a lot to communicate with my family. It is really hard to decide it in a short time with just using e-mails. But we can actually talk through Skype. So it is really useful, and I could decide to stay in a few days.
私がここにもう１学期滞在することを決めたときも親と連絡を取るためにたくさん使いました。これがメールだとなかなか大変なのですが、スカイプを使うと実際に話ができるので短い期間の中で決めることができました。

The Best thing is it is free!!
Today, I got a call from my friend who is living in India. It was 2am in India, but she found that I was online and called me!! We can see faces each other too, so we can feel closer than the actual distance!! I have not met her for almost two years, but we are still keeping in touch like this. :)
これの最もいいことは無料だと言うことです。
今日は、インド人の友だちから電話が掛かってきて話しました。インドは朝の２時だったみたいですが、私がオンラインになっていることを見つけてかけてくれました。声だけでなく、お互いの顔も見れるので、実際の距離よりもお互いを近くに感じることができます。彼女とはもう２年程会っていないのですが、こうやって今でも連絡を取り合っています。

 When I went to New Zealand for three months in high school, I did not have any SNS such as Skype. And the way to communicate with my family was only through e-mail. I believe it was good because I could enjoy the lifestyle at there without any "interference" from Japan. But today, these kinds of Internet Services are really big and we knew that how convenient it is.
私が’高校時代に3ヶ月間ニュージーランドに留学したときには、スカイプのようなサービスについて全く知りませんでした。だから親と連絡を取る手段はメールだけでした。家族と連絡をとることがほとんどない生活だったことはとても良かったと今でも思っています。しかし、今はインターネットがとても普及しており、それがどんなに便利かを私たちは知りました。

It may be bad if we become addict to those services, but it is really good service with using good ways!! It makes the world smaller, and I can keep contact with more friends from all over the world!!
中毒になってしまったら厄介ですが、賢く使えば本当に便利で最高なサービスだと思います!! 世界を小さくし、世界中の友だちと繋げてくれています!!
